A structured program for protecting information
Alaska Care Compass maintains an active security and privacy governance program. The program is being developed in stages so safeguards can be implemented, tested, documented, and improved as the platform grows.
Access boundaries
Public directory data, organization operations, referrals, messages, and administrative functions use separate authorization boundaries. Organization membership does not automatically grant referral or sensitive-data access.
Governance evidence
Administrative changes, security reviews, privacy workflows, and selected sensitive operations are designed to produce auditable records and support ongoing control validation.
Continuous improvement
Security and privacy controls are reviewed as workflows, vendors, legal obligations, and platform capabilities change. Findings are tracked through remediation and follow-up validation.
Governance maturity model
The maturity model provides a consistent way to describe progress without representing an unfinished program as a completed certification.
Foundation established
Core governance structure, ownership, data boundaries, and baseline safeguards are defined.
Controls implemented
Technical and operational safeguards are implemented across prioritized workflows.
Controls validated
Safeguards are tested, evidence is collected, and gaps are remediated.
Compliance readiness
Documentation, vendor obligations, policies, and validated controls are prepared for formal compliance review.
Continuous governance
Monitoring, review, incident readiness, evidence maintenance, and control improvement operate continuously.
Current program position
The foundation has been established and control implementation and validation are ongoing. Alaska Care Compass is continuing to strengthen privacy, security, vendor governance, auditability, consent, authorization, and sensitive-data handling as part of the V1 program and subsequent maturity work.
