How Alaska Care Compass handles information
This notice explains the main categories of information Alaska Care Compass collects, why the information is used, and the safeguards built into the service. It applies to the website and application workflows operated by Apricity Group LLC under the Alaska Care Compass service.
Information we collect
Depending on the feature you use, Alaska Care Compass may collect contact information, care-navigation details, referral information, provider or facility information, messages, account information, and technical records needed to operate and secure the service. We also collect privacy-minimized product analytics such as page area, listing viewed, directory category, selected city/availability filter, result count, contact-action type, device class, and randomly generated visitor/session identifiers. We do not store free-text directory searches in the analytics event stream.
How information is used
Information is used to operate care-navigation, referral, directory, messaging, provider, support, security, data-correction, product-improvement, and business-analytics workflows. Provider and organization analytics are aggregate and permission-scoped. Platform-wide strategic analytics and business-development insights are restricted to Alaska Care Compass administrators.
When information may be shared
Information may be shared with care providers, facilities, case managers, home-health agencies, service providers, or other authorized participants when needed for the workflow you request. Public directory information is intentionally separated from internal operational and referral data.
Retention and deletion
Records are retained only as needed for operational, security, legal, contractual, and recordkeeping purposes. Account-deletion and data-correction workflows exist, but some information may need to be retained where required by law, contract, security, dispute handling, or other documented obligations.
Health and referral information
Referral workflows may include health, care, payer, veteran, placement, and other sensitive information. Alaska Care Compass uses access controls and workflow authorization to limit who can view referral information. Whether particular information is Protected Health Information under HIPAA depends on the parties and legal relationship involved in the specific workflow.
Do not use public correction forms, public reviews, or general support fields to submit resident medical records or other unnecessary sensitive information. Client-specific care information belongs in the secure referral workflow.
Referral acknowledgement and consent evidence
Before a standard or veteran referral is accepted, the signed-in submitter must separately acknowledge this Privacy Notice, consent to the referral information-use and sharing statement, and confirm that the referral form is not an emergency service. Alaska Care Compass records the applicable notice version, referral-consent version, intake source, and a server confirmation timestamp as private governance evidence.
Current referral consent version: 2026-08-25-v1. The consent record documents the submitted workflow acknowledgement; it does not by itself determine HIPAA status, create a placement guarantee, or replace any separate authorization or legal basis that may be required for a particular organization or use.
Product analytics and insights
Alaska Care Compass uses a standardized event stream to understand how the directory, provider tools, organization workspace, and subscription funnel are used. Events may include page area, listing identifiers, coarse directory filters, result counts, contact-action type, device class, account role when signed in, and random visitor/session identifiers. The analytics event stream does not accept referral IDs, resident/client information, diagnoses, payer information, message content, email addresses, or arbitrary browser metadata.
Providers and organization users receive only aggregate metrics for listings they are authorized to view. Platform-wide behavioral and business-development insights are available only to Alaska Care Compass administrators. Analytics are used for product improvement, directory quality, availability and capacity trends, service planning, and business development; they are not clinical recommendations or placement decisions.
Privacy choices and requests
You may use the data-correction workflow to report inaccurate directory information. Depending on applicable law and the type of record involved, additional access, correction, deletion, or restriction rights may apply. Identity verification or retention exceptions may be required before certain requests can be completed.
