Our Verification Standards
- •Assisted-living facility records may be cross-referenced against available Alaska public licensing information and other authorized sources.
- •License fields and verification status are reviewed where source information is available; directory presence is not a licensing determination or regulatory certification.
- •We may review license numbers, license type, validity dates, and other public regulatory information when those fields are available from the relevant source.
- •Core facility information may also be reviewed through provider contact, public references, administrative review, or documented site-visit information.
Safety Verification Protocols
- •Sprinkler System Status: When a source record includes sprinkler information, the directory can display that reported field for users to verify directly.
- •Water Source: When source information identifies well water or another water source, the directory may display that field as an informational data point.
- •Resident Type Classification: Facility records may include the resident-type classifications reported in the applicable source data (for example DD/MH, SS, or DU).
- •Bed Capacity: Capacity fields may reflect public licensing records or provider updates. Current openings and availability should always be confirmed directly with the facility.
What Families Should Verify
- •Visit the facility in person before making a placement decision. Online listings provide a starting point, not a substitute for direct observation.
- •Ask the facility for current licensing and inspection information and confirm material regulatory facts through the appropriate Alaska public agency.
- •Confirm the administrator, resident manager, and other relevant personnel requirements directly with the facility and appropriate authority.
- •Inquire about staff training, medication management protocols, emergency procedures, and other practices relevant to the individual's needs.
- •Review available public complaint, inspection, and enforcement resources through the appropriate Alaska agency before making a placement decision.
How We Monitor Listings
- •Facility data may be imported from Alaska public licensing sources and supplemented by provider or administrative updates. Source data can change or lag behind current conditions.
- •Each facility record includes a verification status (Verified, Needs Verification, Outdated, Unverified) so users know the currency of the information.
- •Community members can report outdated or incorrect information through our Maintenance Requests page, and our team investigates each report.
- •Facility providers who have claimed their listing can update certain information directly, subject to admin review for licensed fields.
Data Privacy & PHI Protection
- •Alaska Care Compass does not intentionally publish referral health information in public-facing directory listings.
- •Referral information is handled through authenticated, authorization-controlled workflows intended to limit access to approved participants.
- •Sensitive files generated by protected workflows are designed to use private storage and controlled access rather than public links.
- •Selected sensitive and administrative actions produce audit records to support security, privacy, and governance review.

- •Licensing information reflects the most recent data available from state sources and may lag behind real-time changes. Always verify directly with the facility.

- •The availability status shown for each facility is self-reported or estimated and should be confirmed by contacting the facility directly.
